On Saturday, 15 July 2023 the Settlers Park HOA hosted a pickleball soft opening and demonstration game at the SPHOA clubhouse. Approximately thirty-five residents’ adults and children, young and old turned up to either play, watch or learn the rules of the game. There were many takeaways from this social event. One main takeaway is that pickleball is an excellent form of exercise because it’s easily adaptable to any skill level and age. If the game is played at a very high level of intensity, players can get a really good workout. Pickleball is also another terrific way to meet new people, because of the way that matches can be set up. Each individual picked an individual to team up with, and in some instances, they were perfect strangers. It was a really social activity. Two games easily fitted and were played at the same time on a single tennis court that was used to create the pickleball courts. An additional pickleball important observation from Saturday’s event is it is an activity you can take up with family and friends. It can be a great way to revisit, reconnect and socialize. Overall, the soft opening pickleball game demonstration was a success. To wrap things up for the afternoon the SPHOIA raffled off a Pickleball set. Let the pictures tell the story.
