National Night Out – Settlers Park/Grove

Despite the heavy rains, into the evening National Night Out was a success. On 3rd October 2023, each resident of The Settlers Park/Grove was asked to lock their doors and spend an evening with their neighbors. This is one of the most effective ways to prevent crime and get to know your neighbors. The local law enforcement, the fire department of Sugar Land, and representatives of the City of Sugar Land visited briefly with residents and shared safety tips and updates. Pepperoni Pizza, Sugar Land, and Level Up Smashed Burger and Grill provided some delicious food which was enjoyed by all in attendance. Other local business partners like Ezee Fiber, J & S automotives, and AFC Urgent Care provided gifts, prizes, and games to top of the evening.

The biggest takeaway from this event is that it served to heighten crime prevention, and safety awareness, strengthen neighborhood spirit and camaraderie to make communities safer, and send a strong message to criminals letting them know neighborhoods are organized and are fighting to keep our community safe. National Night Out will be an annual community-building event that promotes partnership and neighbor-to-neighbor camaraderie. So, if you missed this year’s campaign for safer and friendlier neighborhoods please mark your calendars for next year, 3 October 2024.

Thank you to all our community partners, residents, and Settlers Park/Grove HOA for making the evening a success.
