Republic Services resumed normal collection schedules in Sugar Land on March 22. The city’s debris contractor continues to work in a few areas where city assessment teams have identified large volumes of debris. Republic Services and the city’s debris contractor have collected more than 24,500 cubic yards of material since the winter weather event -- eight times more than collected during the same time last year.
We expect the increase in green waste volume will continue for several weeks as residents continue to address their landscape needs following the freezing weather. As we return to normal collection schedules, remember to place items at the curb on designated collection days. Continued increases in green waste volumes could result in collection delays during the coming weeks, which is normal this time of year. Republic Services will return to any incomplete service areas within the following 24 to 48 hours to render service.
